Just a month ago Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar announced that Michelle was pregnant with child number 20. Unfortunately it was not to be – it was announced that Michelle has suffered a miscarriage in her second trimester. At a routine US scan, where they were to find out the sex of their 20th baby, the doctor found that the baby had no heartbeat and had informed Michelle and Jim that she had miscarried.
The toughest part was telling their children the sad news. It had only been the previous night that the couple was talking about names for their 20th baby. Michelle aged 45, had miscarried her second pregnancy. This miscarriage was believed to have been as a result of the birth control pills that she had been taking. Michelle also suffered several complication with her daughter Josie who is baby no. 19.
The Duggar family stars in TLC's reality show 19 Kids and Counting and comprise of Joshua, aged 23 (who is married with two kids of his own), twins Jana and John-David, aged 21; Jill, aged 20; Jessa, aged 19; Jinger, aged 17; Joseph, aged 16; Josiah, aged15; Joy-Anna, aged 14; twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, aged 12; Jason, aged 11; James, aged 10; Justin, aged 8; Jackson, aged 7; Johanna, aged 6; Jennifer, aged 4; and Jordyn, aged 3, and Josie, almost 2.
It does not really matter whether it was kid no 19 or kid no 20, but a loss is a loss and it is felt deeply.
A funeral service is being planned for the unborn baby.
